Everything I Learned About Entrepreneurship, I Learned from the Quran
Lesson 3: Vision
Al Salam Alaikum 🌱
This week, we delve into the transformative power of vision, drawing guidance from the story and wisdom of Prophet Sulaiman’s (AS).
As accounted in the Qu’ran, his story holds profound wisdom and guidance for all of us, especially those of us navigating the exciting yet challenging waters of entrepreneurship.
It encourages us to dream big and ensure our aspirations align with a higher purpose.
🔠Unveiling Prophet Sulaiman’s Vision
A particular verse in Surah Sad (38:35) caught my attention.
In it, Prophet Sulaiman’s makes a heartfelt plea to Allah (SWT):
This request, so deeply humble yet ambitious, serves as a powerful reminder to us to reach for extraordinary goals.
đź‘‘ The Trial & the Triumph
What’s uniquely fascinating is the context surrounding his supplication.
Before Prophet Sulaiman was granted his grand vision, he underwent a test, a challenge laid by Allah (SWT) on his throne before Allah granted his grand vision.
It’s a potent reminder that our journey toward achieving our vision will require resilience, steadfastness, and unwavering faith in the face of trials.
🔑 Key Takeaways
Here are three lessons I’ve extracted from this story:
⚓️ Spiritual Anchoring: The first thing Prophet Sulaiman does before asking for his kingdom is seek forgiveness. It’s a valuable lesson about grounding our worldly ambitions in spirituality.
🎯 Vision Aligned with Purpose: His request for a kingdom isn’t for personal gain but to fulfill a purpose that transcends him. It’s a call for us to align our entrepreneurial endeavors towards noble causes.
🤹 Utilization of Innate Talents for Noble Deeds: Just like Prophet Sulaiman employed his divine skills, talents, and endowments to govern, we, too, can use our unique skills for projects and businesses to serve a higher purpose.
🗒️ A Personal Note
As you navigate your entrepreneurial journey, remember that trials and setbacks are often precursors to growth and success.
Don’t be afraid to dream big, set lofty goals, and seek a grand vision for your life and business.
Always ground your ambitions in your faith and divine purpose, seeking forgiveness during trials and triumphs.
Let’s take inspiration from Prophet Sulaiman’s story- a divine narrative of trial, lofty supplication, and ultimate triumph.
May it light your path as you pursue your visionary aspirations inshAllah.
This week, I encourage you to reassess your vision through a new lens and a fresh perspective.
Take some time to consider whether your aspirations are in harmony with your faith, strengths, talents, and characteristics.
Aim to align your ambitions with your spiritual responsibilities, just as Prophet Sulaiman (AS) did, by grounding all your endeavors in noble intentions.
